The finalised schedule of the conference »Touristic cultures: space, mobilities, corporealities« taking place in the beautiful town of Sion (Switzerland), June 21-23 2010 has been published. This conference is jointly organised by the IGU-Commission »The Cultural Approach in Geography« and the Institut Universitaire Kurt Bösch (IUKB).

Welcome to the new site of the IGU-Commission "The Cultural Approach in Geography"

The IGU-Commission „The Cultural Approach in Geography“ contributed in recent years to the critical analysis of geographical representation of cultural realities. Acknowledging this, the commission intends to further support substantial research into the significance of cultural aspects for economic, social and political geographies on the local, regional and global scale.
